I have a new N95 but not very impressed with the quality of the Nokia NZ maps for the GPS function. I downloaded the Google maps but just couldn't get them to run. It could be that my settings need to be changed or I need to be near a WiFi hotspot? I would appreciate some advice. Thanks

I have a N95 8GB and the NZ Maps on Nokia Maps 2.0 are fine... you might have to update your nokia maps application...

GG, No mapping application is a hundred percent accurate. I have the latest version of Nokia maps with the latest maps installed, some streets are simply missing in my area. It would be nice if I had the option to use Google Maps instead if I wanted to - in fact, it's not just gmaps that doesn't work properly but ALL sockets-based apps...

I managed to download the Google Maps after all and they are brilliant. What's more, they cover the entire world although I note that the maps for Japan are in Japanese! I downloaded them on my phone from Google Mobile Maps. I also downloaded a small application (on their website) which seems to have done the trick. I agree with Sneaky. The Nokia maps for my area are useless. Streets missing, no names or configured wrong. Cheers

    Hi Daniel

I've just checked this site and saw your message. If you go into the internet on your phone and type in : m.google.com/maps. It will take you to the Google Mobile Maps website from which you can download the maps as well as the application I mention above but can't remember the name of. Best of luck.

Hi. I'm after some advice. My N95 is using power when in standby mode. I replaced the battery with no luck. For example, I fully charged it at 9pm but was only a quarter full at 6am. Phone works fine otherwise. Any ideas please?

    Cheers

I got me a N95 in june of last year. Yes it is full of great features. But the call quality is unacceptable. It echos & cuts out all the time. I've had it back at Nokia Care three times. And they can not/will not repair it. I would think that a phone with this price tag to proform better. alot better. Worst phone ever....
